Who We Are
This site is http://www.charlottemasoneducation.org, a resource for Charlotte Mason education in Southern California.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why

Comments: When you comment, we collect your name, email, IP address, and browser details to show your comment and catch spam. An anonymized email hash may go to Gravatar to display your profile picture (see their policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/). We keep comments indefinitely to manage follow-ups smoothly.

Contact Form: Our signup form collects your first name, last name, email, and interest in Charlotte Mason to send you SoCalCM updates and connect you with our community. This helps us share resources and news.

Cookies: Commenting saves your name, email, and site in cookies for a year for convenience. Login cookies (if you register) last two days—or two weeks with “Remember Me”—and screen options last a year. Editing posts sets a one-day cookie with no personal data, just the post ID. A temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies, discarded when you close it.

Embedded Content: Videos or images from other sites (e.g., YouTube) may track you as if you visited them directly—check their policies.

Analytics: We don’t currently use analytics, but if added, it’d track visits to improve the site (details would be updated here).
Who We Share Your Data With
Form data goes to Mailchimp for mailing list management (see their policy: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/). Comments may hit a spam filter like Akismet. We don’t sell or share beyond that.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Comments stay forever unless you ask us to delete them. Form data stays in Mailchimp until you unsubscribe or we close the list. Registered user info (if any) lasts until you delete your account.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you’ve commented, signed up, or registered, you can request a file of your data or ask us to erase it. Email admin@charlottemasoneducation.org. We’ll comply unless it’s needed for legal or security reasons.
Where Your Data Goes
Comments may ping spam filters. Form data sits with Mailchimp in the U.S. We don’t send it elsewhere.
Children’s Privacy
We’re family-focused but don’t knowingly collect data from kids under 13. Contact us if this happens—we’ll remove it.
