Heather Larson
Heather Larson is a Christian called to reflect God’s goodness, truth, and beauty. 29 years ago Heather–a medievalist–married Erik–a seismologist and her favorite campus Bible study co-leader. A few years and degrees later, they left academe, moved back to California, and started a family, eventually finding new jobs as a homeschool mom and a rocket scientist, respectively. Their older daughter is now married and recently graduated from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania; their younger daughter is 17 and an enthusiastic senior in the Sursum Corda community. Heather was struck by the writings of Charlotte Mason fourteen years ago, when she started homeschooling, and became gradually more and more committed to the approach every year. Four years ago she joined the Sursum Corda community, where she designed the Latin program and teaches Latin, Plutarch, and Shakespeare.
Although her doctorate is in Celtic Languages and Literatures, Heather loves to read all kinds of literature and theology, especially in verse and especially pre-1850. She lives in the woods, in an oak forest near Santa Margarita, CA. She enjoys playing with words, harps, and pre-modern or minority languages, and has a passion for encouraging mother-culture scholarship and inspiring her fellow mothers.
If you are interested in upcoming (virtual) mother-culture seminars, please visit her website or email her at heather@heatherharp.com .
