Amy Johnson

Amy Johnson has been married to her husband for 19 years and they have two daughters (the oldest, Lexi, has just graduated and her youngest, Chloe, is in 9th grade). She first learned of Charlotte Mason as a new mom and was hooked. By the grace of God, she has been homeschooling since the beginning and attributes a paradigm shift in her adult life because of Charlotte Mason’s philosophies. She always had a love for reading, but her homeschool journey has grown a deeper appreciation for great books, the outdoors, and the fine arts.

Amy enjoys being in community with other Charlotte Mason inspired families and serves as a Board Member for Sursum Corda, a CM co-op in Orange. It is within this community that she teaches History and Shakespeare (both favorite subjects of hers).

For the past 8 years Amy has lived “half-country” in the rural town of Norco on a half-acre property where she has a garden, two dogs, two “barn” cats, three horses (one is an itty bitty mini), a tortoise, and a small flock of chickens. She spends a great deal of time working alongside her husband for their family business and outside taking care of animals as well as exploring, admiring, and inquiring over the vast areas of nature that she is surrounded by.
