Miriam Adkins
Miriam Adkins is a homeschooling mom of four kiddos. Since completing her BA at Rice University and her MS in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she has practiced as a pediatric OT in various settings. She and her wonderful husband Mark have lived in 7 states and 13 cities since they were married 16 years ago. Though she didn’t expect to homeschool, she took the plunge after a mid-year move from St Louis to Southern California. She considers homeschooling a chief passion and a privilege. Miriam’s homeschooling journey meandered through several curricula, co-ops and a charter. Finding Charlotte Mason’s philosophy helped her see that education becomes our living, not boxes we check. Her family has been deeply enriched as they grow together by feeding on living ideas and beauty in God’s creation. In her free time, Miriam enjoys reading, baking with sourdough, sewing, interior design projects, and dreaming of homesteading in the mountains.
